Biographical sketch
I am a coastal geomorphologist and work as the Director of Coastal Restoration for Mott MacDonald in the Gulf of Mexico. I have worked in this field for 29 years. My experience and the experience obtained by working with great geoscientists, ecologists and engineers showed me that In order to Design and Build with Nature, you need to understand the eco-geomorphological processes that are occurring in your study area in the short- and long-term. Once you understand how the ecosystems are reacting or adapting to the geomorphological and human generated processes, then we can say we are building with nature. Fighting erosion is not building with nature... The Eco-Geomorphological analysis of the system is part of our approach to coastal restoration.
