Biographical sketch
W. Cyrus Clemo ("Cy") is a graduate student at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and University of South Alabama advised by Dr. Kelly Dorgan. Cy is interested in the interactions between burrowing animals (infauna), their marine sediment habitat, and physical disturbances to the seafloor such as storms and hurricanes. Specifically, Cy is interested in how disturbance-induced changes to sediment mechanical structure affect infauna habitat suitability, what traits allow surviving infauna to tolerate a physically-disturbed habitat, and whether tolerant infauna activity improves disturbed habitat suitability for less-tolerant species.
